Ms. Romberg is a 1969 graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Anthropology. She received her California State Teaching Credential in Elementary Education from California Lutheran College in Thousand Oaks, California in 1970.

She married Steve Wiener in July 1970. Shortly after the birth of their first child, Eric in 1972 she became an instructor in the Lamaze method of childbirth preparation. Initial training and certification for this  was  through   Preparing  Expectant  Parents  in  Pasadena,  California.  Additional  training  and certification in childbirth preparation was later obtained through The Association for Childbirth at Home in Cerritos, California in 1977. Ms. Romberg later retired from active childbirth class instruction in 1980.

Ms. Romberg’s concern over infant circumcision began in 1977 following the birth and circumcision of her third  son. The decision to write this book came shortly thereafter. She now has written and put together  numerous  information  sheets  and  slide  sets  on  infant  circumcision  and  other  childbirth education related issues.
